In 2025, the Frankfurt Book Fair will welcome the Philippines as its Guest of Honour – and the Zofingen in the canton of Aargau are looking forward to literature from the island nation. Shaped by centuries of colonial history, migration, and cultural diversity, Philippine literature reflects the multifaceted identity of the island nation. From oral traditions and speculative fiction to comics and graphic novels, it showcases an impressive range of forms of expression. With 7,641 islands, 183 languages, and a population of over 115 million, the cultural landscape of the Philippines is a unique melting pot that you can explore at the Zofingen Literature Days!
